Celebrating 38 years of musical excellence

Over its thirty-eight year history, TCNE has performed a rich diversity of choral music with programming that includes opera and professional collaborations. Serving young people from over 35 diverse communities, TCNE has achieved many significant artistic milestones, while simultaneously enriching the cultural life of our community. Our mission: To educate young people by providing vocal training and performance experience that inspires a lifelong passion for music.

Weekly rehearsals prepare our students by teaching and building teamwork, encouraging confidence, and fostering creativity. Our choirs have performed with, and have shared Boston’s Symphony Hall stage with, many Boston area ensembles, including the Reading Symphony,. TCNE has commissioned several works and has participated in domestic and international exchanges. In March 2010, TCNE choristers sang in the world premier of Ralf Yusuf Gawlick's Kinderkreuzzug. Recent tours have included destinations such as New York, England, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., Austria and Italy.

In keeping with its goal of educating new audiences, TCNE’s Hands on Opera! presents an annual educational outreach program. The 2013 performance is Gilbert and Sullivan’s Pirates of Penzance. These adapted performances are fully staged and costumed. Their success is a tribute to the enthusiasm and talents of our TCNE members.
